To be concrete, during the lecture, Director Yan, through a series of real and vivid cases, told parents that to raise a child with a strong inner self, they needed to grasp the three core pillars of the child's growth path as follows: seeing the child ('I am truly existent'), believing in the child ('I am capable'), and fulfilling the child ('I am valuable'). Therefore, initially, parents should 'see their children', giving them the opportunity to experience the real world, creating a space where children can express their pain, and becoming a 'safe haven' for their emotions. Also, what parents should see is the children themselves, not the 'perfect work' in their hearts. In addition, parents should 'believe in their children', providing effective connection encouragement, replacing the 'fixed mindset' with the 'growth mindset', and learning to utilize the 'winner effect' to bring more success to their children. Last but not the least, parents should 'fulfill their children', allowing them to gain a sense of value by taking responsibility for themselves, fulfilling theie children's intention to contribute, and achieving self-worth through altruism. More remarkably, Director Yan emphasized that these methodological approaches of 'seeing', 'believing', and 'fulfilling' are not cold parenting techniques; Instead, they are different expressions of love. Besides, only when we use love to see, to believe, and to fulfill, can the miracle of education truly occur. Correspondindly, Director Yan's lecture was highly beneficial to the parents. After the lecture, parents actively exchanged with Director Yan, asking more questions about their children's growth and family education, which Director Yan patiently answered.
In conclusion, the 'Home-School Lecture Forum' is a traditional activity of our school, which is held once every semester, aiming to establish a 'three-party' educational system integrating school, family and society, promoting parents to fully recognize the significance and role of family education, enhancing their sense of mission and responsibility in family education, and guiding parents to establish correct parenting concepts, learn and master scientific family education knowledge and effective educational methods, so as to create a favorable family education environment for the healthy growth of their children.
